  • <p><strong>Weather in Yunnan:</strong></p><ul><li>It's super sunny and dry in Yunnan during winter, so remember to put a lot of sunscreen and moisturiser</li></ul>
  • <p><strong>How to take train in China:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Book on Trip.com 14 days in advance using your passport</li><li>Arrive at the train station 30 minutes earlier and look for check-in gate based on info on the big screen</li><li>Use manual gate and show your passport to the staff, no physical train ticket is required</li></ul>
  • <p><strong>How to take taxi in China:</strong></p><ul><li>In WeChat, go to Me → Services → DiDi Ride-Hailing → DiDi mini program will pop out</li><li>You can use Chinese/foreign phone number for booking. Pay after the ride using WeChat Pay inside DiDi mini program</li></ul>
  • <p><strong>How to contact hotel without Chinese phone number:</strong></p><ul><li>Search for hotel's account on WeChat using their phone number provided</li><li>Add them as friend and chat with them to arrange for pickup etc&nbsp;</li></ul>
  • <p><strong>How to take public transport in China:</strong></p><ul><li>In Alipay, switch to your current city on the left top corner if it's not automatic</li><li>Click “Transport” and get the digital bus/metro code</li><li>Take public transport by using the QR code on your phone</li></ul>
  • <p><strong>How to search for restaurants in China:</strong></p><ul><li>In WeChat, search "美团“ mini program</li><li>Switch to your current city on top left corner if its not automatic</li><li>You can order food delivery by clicking “外卖”, or look for nearby restaurants by clicking “美食” → “附近” → “500m”</li><li>Avoid restaurants with rating &lt; 4.0. Usually restaurants &gt; 4.5 are good</li><li>You can buy set on 美团, it's much cheaper than ala carte. If you order ala carte, you can buy vouchers at a cheaper price and pay using vouchers</li></ul>
  • <p><strong>Toilet</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>China:</strong></p><ul><li>Toilets in China are mostly squat ones, so it's time to practise Asian squat</li><li>There may be one or two sitting ones available in some toilets, but never sit on it directly</li><li>Remember to bring your own tissue and dispose it in the bin</li></ul>
